It's been over 2 weeks since my last post. Mom has been somewhat busy during that time. She has 3 new trainees that she's training and supervising where she works and this has kept her busy there. Additionally, her workplace has training going on for everyone - she and her co-workers in her group are receiving training each Thursday for a couple of hours and she has assigned reading in the textbook they've provided to her. Everyone will be receiving training in mid-February, as she says they're going to migrate [whatever that is] to a new e-mail program soon and they need to learn how to use it.
Mom has spent time with her friend, Auntie Luv, helping her with getting some of her computer projects done. She and Auntie Luv had lunch on Thursday and then came back here and worked for a while. They took off and went to their favorite Christian store after that and did some shopping, then while they were nearby, Mom ducked into a office supply store and got something she needed.
Uncle Bill, Mom's brother, did her tax returns earlier this week. Mom printed them and then reviewed them Friday morning. She said that there was an issue with her Mississippi return but her federal return was fine. So, she got it ready to mail and went to the post office with it.
While she was mailing it, she wanted a flat rate envelope stamp for a package she'll be sending out next week. The postal clerk thought she wanted the envelopes, she finally got the woman to understand she wanted the stamp. Turned out they didn't have the stamp available since they recently increased the price. The woman finally realized that she could sell Mom a combination of stamps that would equal to the cost of the new price - and Mom was like "well do it!". I can understand why Mom was a bit exasperated by that time.
Mom came home after that and stayed home the rest of the day and finally connected with Uncle Bill and they got the issue with her state tax return corrected and she will get it ready and send it out in the mail on Monday. Mom did 2 loads of laundry as well and watched some TV yesterday, plus she read some more of former VP Dick Cheney's book - In My Time: A Personal and Political Memoir.
Today Mom has hung out at home and she spent some time on the computer, then talked with Uncle Bill for a bit. She went over to the grocery store earlier and got some stuff - but nothing for me - and now we've got the Senior Bowl from Mobile, Alabama on TV. Three of Mom's LSU Tigers are on the South team. Their names are:
Will Blackwell
Deangelo Peterson
Brandon Taylor
It's just about halftime. The North squad leads the South squad 13-6.

What we've been up to....
I know I haven't posted in over a month, but I'm still around. Here's what we've been up to.....
December was a busy month -
LSU won the SEC Championship over Georgia 42-10 in the Georgia Dome.
Mom attended FBCJ's Carols By Candlelight - the last one headed by Dr. L. Lavon Gray, former and now interim Minister of Music.
Mom went home to Louisiana for Christmas. She said she had a great time - she was gone for several days. When she came back she had several packages of treats for me.
Unfortunately, LSU lost the National Championship game earlier this week. Mom was not happy about it, but she says she doesn't blame the team. They only tried to execute the gameplan that Coach Miles gave them. Unfortunately, he stubbornly stuck with what she calls the option offense and QB Jordan Jefferson even after it became 100% clear that neither were working. So, she blames Coach Miles for the loss - says he's 100% responsible.
Today she went grocery shopping and while she was there, she got me a new collar - purple - and she has switched it out on me.
This is all for now.....

Ins-purr-ation for Cat Lovers
The cat is surprisingly similar to other high-tech devices you may already own. Like personal digital assistants, it is compact and portable. Like a home security system, it is capable of functioning autonomously for extended periods without direct human intervention. But unlike virtually any other product....it is, for the most part, self cleaning.

Ins-purr-ation for Cat Lovers
The kitten has a luxurious, Bohemian, unpuritanical nature.
It eats six meals a day, plays furiously with a toy mouse and a piece of rope, and suddenly falls into a deep sleep whenever the fit takes it.
It never feels the necessity to do anything to justify its existence; it does not want to be a Good Citizen; it has never heard of Service. It knows that it is beautiful and delightful, and it considers that a sufficient contribution to the general good.
And in return for its beauty and charm it expects fish, meat, and vegetables, a comfortable bed, a chair by the grate fire, and endless petting.

Ins-purr-ation for Cat Lovers
At times, cats can seem like hairy little people. In times of sickness or sorrow they may wrap your head in their paws, nuzzle your neck, or lick your cheek. A calm atmosphere is deeply linked to survival. If you are upset or ill, your cat will do whatever it takes to sooth you, so that his home becomes secure once more.

Happy Birthday Mom!!
Happy Birthday to my Mom! Today is her birthday - and no, I won't get myself in trouble by telling her age. I love you Mom even if you did step on my tail yesterday. I know you didn't mean to do it.

Ins-purr-ation for Cat Lovers
As far as your cat's concerned, you are Mommy, Daddy,
God, best friend, and sibling all rolled into one; and if she
sometimes seems annoyed with you, just remember how
long you spent in therapy trying to deal with your
feelings about important figures in your life.
