New Orleans Saints

I forgot to tell you that Mom was very happy this morning. She didn't get to see the Saints game vs. the Atlanta Falcons last night so she was anxious to check out the newspaper this morning. Mom was quiet pleased to find that the Saints beat those Falcons 17-14 and have clinched a playoff spot.

Sukiey's Story

Sukiey is now 11 years old. Her "birthdate" is July 16, 2000 [my designation, based on what my friend I adopted her from told me].

I've been told that she's a "Tortie" - that is a tortoise shell breed of cat due to her markings. Regardless, she's a beautiful cat!

We adopted each other 5 years ago - in March of 2006 - when a friend of mine who was fostering her for someone she knew could no longer keep Sukiey due to behavioral issues. She didn't get along with my friend's other animals and so my friend offered her to me as it seemed that Sukiey was a calm and gentle cat when I would go and visit. My friend's friend was unable to reclaim Sukiey due to personal issues.

At first I declined, as I had a waterbed at that time, but when I was informed that my friend was going to reluctantly take Sukiey to a shelter, I agreed as I realized that the Lord was telling me that I was supposed to take the cat and I also knew that Sukiey deserved a better life than she had had up to that point.

We've been together ever since - I love her and she loves me!
