Mom asked me to post this - I don't know why; she and/or our housemate may be planning to get up and go out and try to view this thing....

A celestial show is expected early Tuesday morning over North America when the Earth’s long shadow engulfs the moon and immerses the bright globe into a lunar eclipse.
The moon will be totally in the Earth’s shadow from 1:41 a.m. until 2:53 a.m., said Christopher Kersey, director of BREC’s Highland Road Park Observatory.
While it’s enveloped in the Earth’s shadow, the moon is expected to be cast in a coppery red, burnt orange, or brown hue.
